Case Description
The patient, aged 38–40 years, was suffering from typhoid fever. He was treated for approximately one month at a government hospital in Lucknow, India.
The allopathic doctors there were unable to provide relief from the disease and advised the patient to go to Gwalior for treatment.
The patient's elder son was my friend. Based on the symptoms described by him, I prescribed Bryonia 30, four doses at intervals of one hour.
The patient had a high fever throughout the night and woke up in the morning. After this, the patient gradually began feeling better during the day and became completely healthy in approximately eight days.
Symptoms of the Patient
The patient's symptoms were as follows:
- Severe pain in the head and chest, with aggravation of the condition from movement.
- Complete loss of appetite.
- Complaint of constipation.
- The patient wanted to remain lying quietly.
- He could not get up from the bed without supporting his forehead with his hand.
Note
Aggravation of the condition from movement is a chief symptom of Bryonia.
Conclusion
This case of typhoid fever was treated with Bryonia 30 on the basis of the patient's symptoms, particularly the aggravation from movement. After four doses given at intervals of one hour, the patient began improving during the day and became completely healthy in approximately eight days.
